Imagen joins IdentAlloy Council
May 15, 2007
The IdentAlloy Council announces that Imagen, located in Irwin, Penn., has joined the IdentAlloy Council. Imagen is one of three EX ONE companies that use the M.I.T. 3D printing technology to fabricate objects from digital data. The imagen process directly converts digital scan data into high noble metal components by combining multiple layers of particulate material using a specialized inkjet printing process to form dental copings. The imagen 3D printing process can make dental prosthetics of varying complexity and material composition.
As an authorized licensee, imagen will supply its North American clients with IdentAlloy certificates for restorations made using its HNB alloy, thus allowing clients to disclose and document the material used in each case.
In making the announcement, Charles Yenkner, IdentAlloy Executive Director, said: "The alloy market is changing in terms of the variety of alloy products used in the producing dental restorations. The IdentAlloy program will grow and expand as required to accommodate new materials as they come on the market. We are pleased to welcome imagen to the IdentAlloy Council."
According to Ex One President and COO, David J. Burns, "Joining the IdentAlloy Council helps demonstrate our continuous commitment to manufacturing innovation and excellence. We are pleased that imagen products will carry the IdentAlloy trademark."
As the only true gold CAD/CAM system, the imagen process brings together leading technologies to enable dental labs to obtain consistent output and superior performing copings. The process ensures precise, uniform features, bright gold luster and a digital case history.
