About the IdentAlloy/IdentCeram Council
The IdentAlloy/IdentCeram Council was founded by leading manufacturers in 1986 to give dentists, patients, labs, insurers, legal experts and others independent validation of the type, manufacturer and composition of the materials used for crowns, bridges, partial dentures and other restorations.
First established to certify a few alloyed materials, the Council's scope has grown to encompass a wide array of alloy and ceramic compositions through its IdentAlloy and IdentCeram certification programs. The Council leadership has also expanded to include manufacturers, laboratories and dentists.
To earn a place in the Council's IdentAlloy or IdentCeram program, member manufacturers voluntarily conform to ADA-sanctioned guidelines for material composition. Members then provide labs and dentists with free IdentAlloy or IdentCeram certificates for each material they offer. Besides helping these professionals consistently attain the desired results with their patients, the certificates also help them fulfill a variety of information requirements, such as billing, insurance verification and legal documentation.
